GOING ORGANIC

Using organic/natural/biological products in all areas of life has never been a strange idea to me. After all, it is always scary to realize how many toxic and synthetic ingredients are put into the products that were supposed to improve our skin/hair/health. Now I really don't want to sound gope-y (which equals to snobby in my dictionary) but recently I decided to go fully organic in skincare. This doesn't mean that I have thrown away all my non-organic stuff as I still have a great deal of Estée Lauder/Kenzo/Garnier products left and I will keep on using them. But for starters I have purchased three Dr. Hauschka face care products.

Treat your face with care. The face is the mirror of the soul. Stress and worry leave their traces on the skin. Therefore, treat your skin with care.

1. Cleansing Cream

Surely I'm not the only one who is having trouble cleaning her face/taking off make up every single day. I am just so lazy when it comes to cleansing so I am really hoping that this new cleanser will help me get into a new routine. So far I've been doing really great, but I wonder how things will go when I have uni from this fall again...We'll see. About the product: it is very simple facial cleanser and as it is all natural it has a brownish-earth color and smells very - how to phrase it - organic. After using it I feel my face totally clean, so it is doing the job. I have also realized that when I feel a zit coming out an evening after using the product and getting a good night sleep the annoying "something is growing on my face" feeling is gone. Yay!

2. Melissa Day Cream

I only got a 5 ml product sample as I still have a lot left from my Estée Lauder DayWear and KenzoKi Moisturizing Skin Guardian (the latter I only use at winter as it has no SPF in it [I know, I know I should wear SPF all year round]). The Melissa Day Cream is created for combination skin. It smells neutral and absorbs relatively fast giving my skin a very soft complexion. I think I am going to purchase the real deal once I ran out my current moisturizers.

3. Eye Balm

The memory of that horrifying morning in Hungary is still daunting: I woke up at around 4AM to go to the toilet. I had a wild night which might or might have not contained a glass or three of fine local wine so I didn't expect to see anything beautiful in the mirror, but I also did not expect to see WRINKLES under my eyes. Well, I did. It was when I swore that first thing when I get back to Holland is buying a good under-eye cream. The Dr. Hauschka Eye Balm is nothing sort of amazing, I can already see some differences. (Well, I must have been exaggerating a bit, those wrinkles were not that bad at all and I am only 22 so how bad they can be, but it is comforting to know that I am already fighting the little bastards. On a sidenote I also decided that I will avoid showing emotions with my face from now on. That is what language is for. Damn I am so angry right now *POKER FACE* )

Eye Balm

This product is great because you only need to use a very small amount so it will last for a long, long time. Apparently it helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and protects the eyes against the forces of nature: cold and wind. Comes in handy when you live in country by the North Sea.

And why did I choose Dr. Hauschka? Well I always do an extensive research before buying skincare products and I was glad that the website of Hauschka offers a lot of knowledge about their products, their ingredients and skincare in general. I also share their views on avoiding night creams as the night (if spent with sleeping) is the only part of the day when our skin gets to breathe a little bit and takes care of itself - just like our brain or our metabolism. Moreover, I started to use silicone- and paraben-free hair products a year ago and I was happy to find a brand that offers the same in skincare products. (For my hair I use Dr. Organics shampoo and conditioner)
